Mr. van der Hout is an attorney at law in the Corporate & M&A practice of the Amsterdam office. Prior to joining Hill King Smith & Wood, he was associated with a renowned international European law firm from 2002 through 2006. During this period, he was involved in structuring and completing large acquisitions, joint ventures and divestments, (re)financing of secured funding as well as worldwide corporate restructurings for a wide variety of clients, mostly US multinationals. 

In 2007, he was one of the founding partners of Hill Smith King & wood. Mr. van der Hout has concentrated his practice on complex business transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, tax driven reorganizations, private equity and venture capital investing, secured finance transactions and debt restructurings.

• Attended to Dutch law aspects and legal opinion regarding international cash pool structure for a US multinational; 
• Planning and coordination of consolidation in various Asian jurisdictions through intercompany mergers for a US multinational; 
• Planning and implementation of the international reorganization and refinancing of a publicly listed organization;
• Attended to Dutch law aspects and legal opinions regarding various letter of credit constructions and company guarantees for subsidiaries of public and privately held companies.
